We had some great Moishe House events recently including a relaxing winter leadership retreat in the catskills. We had some great programming on the trip, but my favorite part would have to be the conversations that were started organically, that came just from a group of 20 Jews being together. It was nice being able to get away and have a change of scenery, have fun, and all the while discussing our various ways of getting involved with the Jewish community and how to get those that aren't more involved. A big thanks to Jeremy and Rabbi Scott for taking the time to help with the programming.
I must mention our Packages for Troops event-hands down one of my favorite events that we have had. Prior when we have asked participants to bring canned goods to our events, to later be donated to our local soup kitchen, we didn't get a very positive response (not many people brought). I figured the same thing would happen for this event so I made sure to buy a plethora of items beforehand. Boy was I wrong. Every single person that came had gone shopping and showed up with many bags full of goodies to send over. When I went to the post office it was too much to send all in one package! We had enough for at least 3 packages! Participants wrote multiple letters and cards expressing our thanks and gratitude, nobody seemed satisfied with only one letter. We have already decided that this is an event that we would like to do at least every other month, if not every month.
Thank you Moishe House, for giving us the opportunity to do these programs.
