I recently came back to work after taking a week off. While I was regaling my office mate with stories of my week off, including New Year's and several MH gatherings. She started laughing and told me about a new show Date to Mate which can be found at www.shalomtv.org Being a closet fan of reality tv and an even bigger fan of mockumentries I had to check it out.
While I watched, I began thinking about all the relationship woes and setup requests I get from attendees at Moishe House events. It some how seems that now that I've become a Moishe House resident I have also become a relationship guru and matchmaker. When I go through our MH Facebook friends it's not such a surprise after I see how many "dates" and possibly perspective "mates" have been made at our Shabbat dinners. I can understand how a Moishe House resident might be confused fo a matchmaker or relationship guru.
While I fuddle through introducing people to prospective dates or fielding the occasional relationship Q&A session I know 2 things.
1. Moishe Matchmaker would be an equally amusing show as Date to Mate
2. If anyone has any matchmaking experience at their MH, truly decent relationship advice or anything to share all advice is appreciated.
