In our experience, the most effective ways to bring people to Moishe House events have been to just have good, easy going, low stress events. When we have tried to advertise heavily and be a little more aggressive with the invites, our numbers usually actually go down in spite of the effort. We just thrive on word of mouth invites (hopefully with notifications to MH on rsvps of course). We have become so used to having more than we invited nowadays that we always feed our rsvps first and try and buy about double what we currently have as rsvps. Although we usually use facebook, there is nothing like a phone call asking a person to come to an event. The way I figure it, a phone call is the most efficient way to invite someone to begin with, you can do it on your ride home from work and the invitee feels at least a slight personal connection to you as compared to a mass 200 person invite on Facebook. In terms of new faces, our regulars are constantly bringing new people to expand on the network so either way we usually have a couple newbies every event. Some of those newbies become regulars and the process begins anew. Happy holidays MH.
