Newcomers Welcome *MoisheNola

What does your house do when someone shows up to a program who doesn't know anyone? What processes do you have for integrating newcomers into your community and making them feel welcome.

Integrating newcomers is an area of growth for our house and one that recently we've made great strides with.  It takes a lot of effort and attention to follow up with people who are new to town, yet we've found that this is a great opportunity to draw in new people who are looking to engage.

We've made personal efforts to contact people and to send follow up regarding events.  Knowing that most people attending our events are transplants encourages us to create an atmosphere that is engaging for newcomers.

An active and diverse schedule of events helps to connect a newcomer with programing and is an easy way to invite them to meet people who share their interests.
